This seafood restaurant lost its roadside signage to an errant driver. The owner came to Dimitrios with some ideas for a replacement theme and the general outlines soon emerged from a couple of sketches. The work was carved into a 2” mahogany blank, with the lobsters (minus whiskers) applied to that. To protect the wood from the weather, the work was painted. The sign painter was careful to lay the paint evenly, in order not to obscure the carved detail. The finials and lettering were gilded with 23 carat gold leaf.
