These 16 square column capitals, carved out of walnut, were intended for use with interior house columns and newel posts. Dimitrios was hired by the contractor, who provided him with assembled blanks produced by his millwork vendor, and an architect’s drawing. From this, Dimitrios developed the exact design, produced the acanthus carvings and called the contractor when they were ready.
